Poor girls, it's cold up there this morning. The door had frozen shut and the water was solid. Still mucking out is easier when it's frozen solid and no wading through the mud.

Smallest egg

So one of the girls evidently had a lazy day producing this one.

Early birds

For the second day in a row someone laid her egg from the perch, it's a long way to fall but remarkably appears not to have cracked. It's not Hi Ho as her eggs are white, and One-man ran straight to the nest box so assuming she now lays it's not her. . . .

Perch egg

Some one laid an egg from the perch this morning. Only slightly cracked so made a great breakfast. These two laid in the box so some one hasn't lain an egg today.

Oneysan is late laying this morning, or maybe just resting. She looks comfy enough, but how many eggs is she sat on?

New roof

The humans are putting the roof on the house. Almost as busy as us laying an average of 3 eggs a day.

Well rowdy isn't egg bound

That's a relief! We'll see if she perks up a bit now!

Still unsure

Rowdy still isn't acting like normal, seems very subdued. Currently she's sat in the nest box so we'll wait and see if she lays.

Worries

Rowdy was very quiet this morning and just not herself and her poo looked most strange (a bad sign according to the books). Worried that she might be sick she was placed in isolation for the morning. Having spoken to Anne who sold the girls to us we found out that actually it's probably nothing to worry about unless Rowdy just sits in a corner so she's in with the rest of them again but we will be keeping a close eye on her.

Oneysan got out of the enclosure twice, tried to find out how but even under intense interrogation she wouldn't crack !

New Homes

Well it's all change around here!
The humans are building their new home. Work continues at a pace although not as fast as predicted.
Meanwhile four new girls have moved in up the garden. They appear to have settled in well and are happy scratching around their "paddock".
